Need Advice -- Change of Location

I have been offered a promotion and that requires that I move to New York. The new job duties do not differ much from the current. More responsibilities..

If I move,
1. Will BCIS transfer the case to Vermont?
2. Is this going to delay the case a lot?

In a tight situation. The promotion will change my career for good.

Thanks

I thought you got to change location bcoz of bad credit :D

1) Will BCIS transfer the case to Vermont?
As far as I know transfer means case is transfered to the local office but still service center is going to be same unless you specifically request a transfer from service center.

2) Is this going to delay the case a lot?
Nobody knows, I guess. Its highly unpredictable.

I would say take it....

I did the same and even filed AC21 with BCIS. But I do use a c/o address in CA and till now, no problems. As long as u can get access the mails from BCIS, you can maintain a local CA address.

BTW, I also have the last three years tax papres from NJ, because initially I was a consultant here and then switched to permanent employment with the same firm. I dont know how that will affect the 485, now that everone gets and RFE, but my lawyers it is not a problem.

Thanks Sri4GC and brokenarrow

I don't think I will be able to have a c/o address in CA. My Company (45000 employees) won't even understand that and My Lawyer will not permit that either.

thats too bad .....

... but it snot illegal. All my correspondances from BCIS comes with c/o XXXXXXX on second line.

Anyway, did u get ur second FP already? Looking by ur ND, you must be around WAC02100s

I did my 2nd FP on the 6th of this month
WAC-02-119

I may have to move to east coast too, and I am planning to change my address AR11 etc., everything to east coast, with the hope that change of address might trigger a case transfer to local center. Its about 6 months after trasnfer, which is a finite amount, when compared to waiting here endlessly. Im 02-129*

Hey guys I moved to east coast at the beginning of the year 2003. But I still have a valid address in CA. I did not file AR-11. Paystubs show east coast address. I have done my first FP in Sep 02 no second FP yet.

My case #WAC-02-120-5****
