File a DS-156 with your nearest US embassy/consulate. If you qualify, you wil be granted a visit visa.

If you apply for it tomorrow it can take anywhere from one week to 3 months after your scheduled interview.
Visitor Visa applications are subject to Name Check Clearance, now if the Consular officer determines depending on a applicants interview, situation, outcome of initial name check when you put your application in online by the Department of State, he/she can request one or many additional checks and until those are cleared, they will not issue a Visa.
Here's a hint, if at the day of your interview if they take finger Prints of only two fingers than your Initial name check with the State department is clear, but if they go for all fingers you already have a hit on the State department's initial name check and most definitely will be put in AP.
If the Consular Officer determines that a initial State Departments Name check is not sufficient, he/she will request more and put you in Adminitrative processing, that is totally his/her discretion and if he/she doesn't go for that than you will have your passport back in no time.
The last paragraph of information is only applicable if the CO decides that he is satisfied to grant a Visa to you at the interview, if otherwise then obviously you will be rejected.

Thank u so much guys for ur response!!

How do i schedule my interview and approximately when will it be scheduled.. I live in hyderabad actually. I just wanna know what time frame would it take. Because i have an urgency.

And also I heard that for a VIsiting visa, someone from the other country needs to recommend me. Is that true? if So what are the pre-requisites for it??

Its called a Affidavit of Support it is not required and have usually in the past have worked against the applicant since then they assume you have someone in US going the extra mile to provide a support letter and will more likely to help you to stay in US indefinitely if you ever ask em to, additionally if the person that has provided the affidavit has any other issues with any government authority and are in thier database that you might (or in some cases even they don't know that) not know of and if they look him/her up then it will have a negative impact on your application.
Remember in US law a applicant for a US visitor Visa is considered a intended immigrant unless you prove otherwise and the burden of proof is on you and is totally different in applying for a Visa for any other european country because for those it always have a very positive effect if you have a support letter from someone living there.
