Need a miracle, about to get laid off

Guys,

We have just been told our group will get laid off.

My RD is 04/30, no FP as yet.
EB1 OR approved at CSC on 03/30/01

We get two months pay from today.

What should I do.

I plan to:

a) Beg them to put me on half pay for 4 months,
hopefully by then my AOS will be approved.

What else can I do?

Won\'t it be 180 days since your RD when you have to leave your
current company? You can find a \'similar\' job elsewhere according
to INS regulations.

Thanks,

But I\'m in EB1-OR so it\'s quite difficult as there is
no Labor Certificate and it\'s difficult to find similar
jobs as they are very specialized.

I think my main hope is to drag out my current employment
and get approval some how.

first: drag yor current job second: search for replacement (just in case)

dragging the current job looks the safest but it doesn\'t hurt to search actively for a replacement job. After all, you have 2 (or 4) months during which u won\'t be too busy at your current job (since it\'s just about to end) so there\'s nothing better to do than looking for a replacement job. Still, if somehow u can drag it even longer this would be even better.

Don\'t you think EB-1 makes it easier?

I do think you asked a valid question. However, Is there any regulation separating EB-1 from EB-2 and EB-3 with respect to 180-day rule?

Don\'t you think EB-1 makes it easier? I assume you can find something in the same field without having to comply with the LC. I don\'t think you need to be working on exactly the same project. If you are a research scientist/engineer in one company, you can always ask for the same title in the new company.

Personally I am interested in finding an satisfactory answer. Even for people who are not being laid off, there is always going to be an argument to make if somebody changes the job after 180 days.
