Nebraska Processing Dates

Hi can someone clarify please ....

The Nebraska processing dates for I-485 say November 2005.

Does this mean that they are only processing those applications with a RD of before November 2005?

If so, then any applications submitted after November 2005 are awaiting review / processing ??

How does this all work ?

Any assistance from the Guru's out there would be helpful.

Same question here

I think we could find out by checking who recently got approval and what's their RD.

Any other ideas or 'insider' information, please? I'm very curious. :)
 
Processing dates mean all the applications received prior to the date and not pending on some external event (name checks, RFE responses) are processed. If your application received before processing date and is not approved chances are they wait for security check

Some applications received after processing dates are being processed, of course. Those are usually cases for the trusted folks from the first world countries.

Email received regarding green card being mailed 9/16/06

I just got the email that the I-485 was approved 9/15/06 even though the priority date is November 2005 for my case. The receipt date as noted above is 4/17/06. So I think the online case status schedule of Nov 05 is not that up to date. A month ago it was Sept 05. It does move, but I don't think it correlates well with what they are actually doing. I was extremely surprised at my approval. And I am not from those First World countries as you may surmise. I am EB2 by the way.

Hi Rohra, What Processing Center processed your case? Is it Nebraska?
 
Thanks and congrats! Five months for approval ain't that bad! I'm assuming you got no RFE then? That's great.

And yet, another EB2 case at NSC. That confirms my theory that NSC is handling EB2s and sending EB1s to TSC!

U NEVER KNOW :) USCIS can do anything they want.
 
Priority Date

I got my welcome notice yesterday in the mail. Interestingly though, there is a priority date on it which says Sept 20, 2005. All this time, I thought PD pertains to the receipt dates of the I-485 that they are handling at that time. But the receipt date for my I-485 is 04/17/06. The only thing dated as Sept 20, 2005 is the date my Labor Cert (via PERM) was received. So does this mean that PD means the date the LC was received though the I-485 was filed much later. I am not really sure about this, any gurus out there?



Anyway, thought I'd just want to share it with you guys.

Incidentally, I just got the actual GC in the mail today! Exactly 7 days after the welcome notice email.

Keep your hopes up guys! I think things are actually speeding up. But as you say, with USCIS anything can happen. As one guru wittingly said, the immigration process is like spiritual journey - it has its ups and downs, very unpredictable, and you might unexpectedly find yourself in heaven or hell.
