Parents here visiting, past the 90 day safe zone to file AOS.
best route to take is AOS due to CP having no recourse in the event of any problems.
We did the same thing. Did the medical exam ahead of time. We asked for I-131 to go and settle property in home country.
Parent's AOS is still pending (so is the I-131), but so far no problems.

Thanks ML_Boston, nice to see your timeline too.
Do you have any tips on filling out since you did it so recently?
Looks like we need to do all that you have in your signature.
Can't think of too much to offer as advice. Read the forms thoroughly, include everything it asks for even if it's not in my signature (bio supplement, sponsor contract, etc.). Any questions, ask in this forum.
I'd suggest preparing the forms in draft now, they ask ton's of questions and ask for lots of documents, so you may want lead time in tracking everything down.

Okay, will do... didn't find anything on bio suppliment though.
Maybe you could answer this question?
I thought uscis set up a standard fee for the whole process that included all the paperwork, / application for travel / work authorization etc.
But seems those are all fees if one applies.
If it takes 4 months as some suggest to get the greencard through for the parents, they may only have the right to work or travel for 2 months. don't know if we want to pay $305 + 305 (travel) + $340 + $340 (work authorization) = $1290 for both parents for that or not.
What's your advice?
