Yet another ND OCT/12/2000 Approved , AD - 23rd August - 2001 and
we got our approval papers and today myself and my wife both went to
Arlington Office and got it stamped.

Arlington Stamping Experience-

We took the metro and went to INS ARLINGTON office by 5.45AM , by the
time there were 20 people in the line. Around 7.30 the gate was opened
and after regular security check, we proceeded to Room 210 therein
an officer asked for I485 papers and VA driver License ID and she asked
us go to LINE B, An officer organized all our papers and gave a token
and within 10 minutes our turn came and next 7 minutes, An INS officer
checked the phtotograph\'s and I485 papers, verified the passport for
validity, etc, and stamped the passport, And further added that it will take 6 to 12 months for the actual card. We completed all this by 8.30 AM
it was smooth ride.The officer was very nice and congratulated us
for getting the green card.

When you go for stamping in Arlington if the Licence is from a different state will it matter.

Congrats.When you go for stamping in Arlington,VA and if your current Licence is from a different State due to temporary relocation will it matter.

This is a good question and the answer is really it matters

I have seen many persons were not allowed inside the room 210
for either not having the Driver lience or having an id
other than one from VIRGINIA. I saw the officer bluntly refusing
even though they were asked to go to this office for stamping.
Hope this clears your doubt.

it says monday thru friday . Go early to avoid delays

May be between 5.00 AM to 6.00 AM will be better, Because by 6.30 it was like 200 people and by 7.30 I could not even see where the queue
ends, I guess around 500 people.

Should Driving Licence be from same State where Stamping has to be done.

Hi,
I have seen some postings that When you go for stamping in Arlington INS Office you need a VA licence.If temporarily relocated to NJ area and having a NJ licence can you still go to Arlington,VA because I-485 is expected under that juridiction.Can any body share their experiences ,Problems faced because of NOn Local licence and suggestions which can help at the time of stamping at Arlington , VA.

I have seen that persons were sent out to get VA ID

if they do not have one. but I have not seen any posting
that they have stamped using other state ID.
Anywayt it is up to you try your luck, worst case you will be sent back, you will loose only the time, nothing else.
