I got approved on 1/14/2005.

Does anybody know what is the first day that counts for the citizenship ?

Is it the I-485 Approval Date ?

Or the stamping date ? (when one gets the passport stamped)..?

Or the plastic card arrival date ...?

Congrats!
The approval date is when you start counting.

So in your case you can send your citizenship application to USCIS on 10/14/2009 (i.e. 5 years minus 3 months from the approval date)
