ND 12/00: Talked to an IIO this morning.....

Hey Guys,

I just talked to an IIO. Very nice ....she asked me to verify my name, my address, my DOB and my lawyer\'s name and address. (is it normal for them to ask lawyer\'s name and address ?) In this case, I don\'t have my lawyer\'s address as i never deal with them directly, always through my employer.

Anyway, she asked me what she could do for me and I told her that I am calling to verify that they have received the FP that I did on March 24th. She said wait, and she said "you did it on March 24th ??" ...can you wait a minute...she came back and asked me for my A#. Once I gave her that , it took her a few minutes and then she said "yes , we received your FP, everything is fine and your case looks good....all you need is a little more patience ". Sounded really nice...

Now if the theory about System #1 and System #2 is correct, she did not find my FP in System #1 where I485 application lies but found it in System #2 using my A#. So hopefully she transferred my FP from System #2 to System #1 ???

Does any of this sound good , Ciba ..others ???

According to Ravi\'s theory, it appears that your case is not
ready for adjudication yet. I hope the theory is wrong and
you will get approval soon.

I-485 finally approved. Called AVM this morning. All cases approved for me, spouse & 2 kids!! I did the whole process myself without lawyers so it paid off. Special thanks to Ciba for all his input. Good luck to others, it\'s just around the corner.

Mick, can you pls tell me if you knew anything about your FP whereabouts when you called IIO ? You know, like could they find it using WAC number instead of A number ??

When I called this week, she couldn\'t tell me anything but my case was on file & they were doing 12/20 files! As it turned out it was already approved before calling her. You are right in the flow & should have it real soon. Good luck & what a relief

Why are concerned with your lawyer\'s address? I don\'t quite
understand your question. You will receive a courtesy copy
when your case is approved.

Since I did the whole process by myself, will my employer still received a copy of the approval? No company lawyers were involved.

No, your lawyer will not get a copy. You should receive the original.
Please let us know whether this is correct.

I am so impressed that you did everything by yourself without the
help from a lawyer. They will be out of their jobs if everyone
does the same. :-)

I am personally not concerned about not knowing my lawyer\'s address.

But I hope the IIO did not misconstrue it...b\'cos when she asked me for lawyer\'s name and address for verification, I told her I don\'t know my lawyer\'s address;would that cause any concern to her ???

I have not rec\'d the approval notice in the mail yet. Maybe Monday. As for lawyers losing their jobs, highly unlikely. I\'m seriously thinking of starting an immigration consulting business out help others thru this mess, but keep the costs within reach of everyone interested. I know how hard it is to support a family of 4, (2 teenage boys) & wife (who loves shopping) with only one income. Maybe I can give something back for all the help I rec\'d thru these fantastic site.
