NC cleared ?! Thanks Mrs. Bush!

I wrote to Mrs. Bush last Oct and today, I got a letter from Depart of Justice stating:

Your letter directed to Mrs. George W. Bush concerning your name check status for immigration purpose, was forwarded to the Department of Justice and subsequently referred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) for reply on January 26, 2007.

A review of the FBI's Name Check Program database revealed that your request was received from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS) on June 17, 2005. This submission was processed and finalized on Feb 2, 2007. The results were forwarded to the USCIS headquarters, Washington, D. C

I trust this information will be of assistance."

-- Anyone ever got things like this? since our FP has been over 1 year old, are we going to be requested for FP again? how soon?

Congrats leohawk !! Hopefully your case will move forward now.

I got a similar letter from the FBI and as per the letter NC cleared on Dec 11, 2006. I received the second FP letter in early Jan. Now, I am in yet another queue - NC done, FP done but still waiting !!
 
I received the similar letter that my case was finalized on Dec 11, 2006. Did FP-2 on 01/17/2007.. still waiting.. Took infopass and lady said that FBI namecheck is cleared by USCIS security check is not complete yet

how long it took u to hear back from FBI after u sent the letter? can u estimates most people r gettin the reply in 2 months after they sent the letter. how long urs took? can u remenber the times?

As said in my post, I sent it last Oct, the waiting time is about 3 month or so... considering the holidays, it will count as 2 month...

First lady does help... :)

Security checks after FBI

Do u have any clue what this "security checks" can be? Sorry, same situation in here. My congressmen told me that it can take 4 years for resolution.

No clue at all. Lady said there is no timeline...
 
Did you confirm your NC results with USCIS?

The letter mentioned that your results were forwarded on Feb 2nd so did they reach processing center?? How many days does it take for the results to reach the processing center?

I was told by local congressman my NC cleared on 11/28 by FBI, and the result had been forwarded to VSC on 1/9, my I485 LUD was 1/18, but I heard nothing from VSC about the adjudication of my I485 so far :cool: ..... By the way, my fingerprint is not expired yet.

Can some one tell me how do u come to know that ur case i stuck in name check. I recvd a letter from INS after I bothered them too much with my repeated requests to transfer my pending I-1485 application concurrently filed with my I-140 NIW to my subsequently approved I-140 EB-1 (visa # is current for India i this category), but nothing happened. The letter said

The processing of your case has been kept on hold due to unavailibility of visas. We are closely monitoring visa situation. PLease do not contact this office.

DOEs THIS MEAN I UNDERSTAND I AM ALL DONE WITH NC ETC AND JUST WIAITING FOR VISA TO BECOME AVAILABLE. I also conatced FBI for FP status and they told me that my fingerprints were cleared same day in spet 2005.

Fingerprints clearance is not related to namecheck.
FP clearance usually just takes a day or two.
From what you said it looks like your NC might be cleared but your quota is finished and they can't give you a GC.
To confirm if your NC is cleared, take an infopass appointment.

The critical thing is whether the USCIS is processing your I-485 case in the EB-1 category or still in the EB-2 NIW category.

From the text of the letter that you quoted, it appears that the USCIS might not yet have linked your pending I-485 to your later approved EB-1 I-140 petition.

While visa numbers are available in the EB-1 category (because it is current for all countries right now), your priority date is not current in the EB-2 category.

Thus, focus on getting the I-485 linked to your newly approved EB-1 I-140 petition.

Could you please PM me what doc's you sent to Mrs Bush office, i mean the sample letter any other info. Also where to send(What is correct address), I have looked at whitehouse website but i could not find what I need,. I really appreciate if you could help on this, as my name is stuck since last 18 months.Please help me.
