I obtained my permanent residency on April 18, 2005 and then applied for N-400 on January 18, 2010. My naturalization interview was held on April 7, 2010. I passed the exam and requested a name change but was told by the officer that my oath cannot be scheduled at that time because I did not meet the 5-year residency requirement. The officer mentioned the following at the end of the interview:

1. Name change will take 3 to 4 weeks after the interview date
2. An oath appointment cannot be mailed prior to April 18, 2010. I can expect to receive an appointment letter a few days after April 18, 2010.

So I expect to receive an oath appointment letter next week. However, I don't know how many days of advance notice will I receive for the oath. I hope that I will have 2 weeks after I receive the appointment letter.
