Naturalization Document Request

I am a veteran of the armed forces and just sent my N-400 on July 6th. I received a letter in the mail telling me to go to a ASC to get fingerprinted. Attached to that letter was another notice explaining that additional documents are needed. The following were checked:

X If you have ever been ordered to provide financial support for a dependent spouse or child, please provide copies of court or government orders to provide financial support to a dependent spouse or children AND evidence that you have complied with that order (cancelled checks, money order receipts, a court or agency printout of child support payments, OR evidence of wage garnishments)

X You indicated in your application that you have been arrested. For these arrests and any other incidents in which you may have been involved, bring originals
or CERTIFIED copies of all arrest records and court dispositions
showing how each incident was resolved. Failure to disclose any and
all arrests may result in the denial of your application.

In my N-400 I stated that I had been detained or cited by law enforcement for the reason being that I had received traffic violation. Now they want to see court certified papers stating that there was not charged filed. I have never been arrested or anything. Do I need to take anything?

Also, I sent them a copy of my petition for divorce and now they want to know if I have been ordered by the court provide financial support. They want to see court documents that I have complied. I have not been ordered to do so. What can I show?

I thank everyone in advance for your responses.

Sent N-400 7/06/2011
FP notice 7/8/2011 (received 7/11/2011 )
FP Date 07/12/2011 - walk in

The letter you received (so-called "yellow letter") is a form computer-generated letter, and the items indicated there may not necessarily apply to you.

By the way, if you read it again, you will see that the items listed in that letter are requested for the naturalization interview, NOT for the fingerprinting appointment (even if the yellow letter arrived together with the fingerprinting appointment letter).

If you were not ordered to pay child support, you won't have to show anything regarding that.
Btw, did you mean "divorce decree" when you wrote "I sent them a copy of my petition for divorce"? If your divorce is finalized by the time of the interview, you'll need to bring a copy of the final divorce decree.

About the traffic tickets: Technically, if the tickets did not involve an arrest and the fine was under $500, you do not have to submit documentation showing their disposition.
See "A guide to naturalization" Q7 on p 8, http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/M-476.pdf

However, practice shows that it is better to bring such documentation to the naturalization interview anyway, if you checked "yes" for Q16 in part 10D of N-400.

If you remember where you got the traffic ticket(s), you can request a letter showing how the ticket was disposed of from the local court (usually the county court) that handles the traffic tickets for that area.

But again, none of this stuff is needed at the fingerprinting appointment.
