I am a veteran of the US Armed Forces. I was honorably discharged from the service. I have been reading anything related to veterans and them filing of the N-400 and other proper documents. I know a few of members of this website have filed under section INA-329. My question is, if I am a veteran and want to file for Citizenship, do I have to pay the fee or not? Can someone help?

Thanks for your service man. God bless this great nation.

Feel strongly about all our troops and I will be a soldier soon.

Thanks for the answer bobsmyth, but even if I'm a veteran I can file under Section INA-329 with no fee? I sent my paperwork and it got sent back for not including a check. Do I have to specify that I am applying on military service and not cause of Permanent Resident Status?

ZeusNero, thanks man, and GOOD LUCK! Thanks for your service!

How long ago were you discharged? If you weren't deployed into active duty, you have to file within 6 months after being discharged.

On the first page you need to selection option (c) "I am applying on the basis of qualifying military service" and send the application to the specially designated address for those who are applying based on military service (see the N-400 instructions).

Do you meet all the requirements of filing under INA 329? If so, did you send it to correct address?
