Hell folks, as a new greencard holder I'm planning to visit Europe next month I mean France, Belgium and Spain. My question is whether I can use my national passport because it is still valid by now. Wating for a RTD some time takes a while. I look forward to reading your reactions, by the thank in advance.

I apologize in my previous message I intended to Hello instead of Hell folks.
I know that renewing a nation passport is illegal, but about using a still valid passport? Mine will expire in 2013 and as a new parmanent resident through asylum I'm wondering if I can use my national passport instead of apply for refugee travel document. What do you think?

As far traveling is concerned you should be okay but keep in mind that with using NP you are availing yourself for COP government's protection . A freind of mine got in fight with someone overseas and even though he had GC, his country of citizenship embassy was notified and he was under their protection and other assistant.He was not asylum or refugee and of corse no problem on that ground for him but imagine if that or anything similar happens to you.

I used my NP after getting my GC, and never had any problems. Just don't fight or get yourself into trouble when you're overseas, and you'll be just fine...

From what Iv'e been reading, There is not problem renewing your NP as long as you dont go back to your COP. I think Cafeconleche knows better.
My experience was: last year traveling from Germany to LA, I was sent through secondary inspection "because I was using only a RTD" I asked the officer if I could use my NP+GC and he told me "there is no problem at all"
