narrate your celebration when you won the lottery

@Mushy_hot and @Qewty - if there are two people who 'deserve' a chance, it's you two. I suspect that, if you are selected, the forum would erupt.

Thank you so much. I'm also praying that my wife get selected. Cheers

First of all, thanks yo all moderators of this forum, they helped me a lot, My case number 259xx, when I saw the lovely message (you have randomly selected for lab lab etc..) I read it again and get shock:eek::eek: this is the only second year to participate, 2014,and get selected on 2015:):) many feelings (happy, scared) specially I didn't know much about the program, then start the headach and thinking, can I get pass?! Many steps needed, much of money I have to spent
passing through the EO's and get some frustration:(:(, then get the AP (the black hole) for a while:D then finally got our Visa's for me and my family, now I'm still scared as my character is fearing from anything newo_O:eek:
We will move inshaallah first of may, start new life create new relations join new community, etc...
Can we success?!
Can we be fits with this new community?!
Can I get a job?!
Is the weather will be OK with my family?!
Caring our kids, get good schools for them, as I think this whole risks only for them to get best chances on their life.

All very normal questions we have all asked!!
You may find it easier to settle somewhere that there is a significant community from your home country (for reasons I don't understand, a number of north/East African communities seem to settle in places with harsh winters!)
That said, you'll deal with the weather wherever you are. Central air and heating are everywhere. Clothes are cheap especially at end of season sales, etc.
It (probably) won't be easy especially at first when it is all new and alien...but it will be worth it :) Best of luck with the move!

I'm sure you will adapt to the change and be very successful in the U.S. Good to see you got selected on the second attempt :)

How I reacted for DV2017

Finding out I was selected for further processing - Shocked/confused/happy (knew there was a lot ahead - called my parents immediately)

The medical - Ehhhh feels like a task getting all your vaccinations and medicals together. Still part of the unknown of what's gonna happen next.

The interview - being told congrulations your visa has been approved was a great a moment. Slight relief! But realising this is getting serious!

Seeing the immigration visa in my passport - Realisation: Wow this is actually happening!

Being accepted at POE - RELIEF! The best moment. If you get a cool immigration officer, then it's the best feeling!

Wooow, what a rollercoaster ride that must've been! :D:cool: And what a fantastic relief it must've been! Where did you end up moving to in America? Enjoying yourself? Thanks for sharing!

Me I had amazing experience, you can say learning experience, I got married to a Kenyan girl in 2011, 2012 October I applied, may 2013 got selected, first time applied and it was lucky, my wife didn't have much knowledge she didn't even Googled anything about DV, I mean what if you get selected, she had no idea, she told me that they will mail me green card and I used to check mail box for 2 weeks then I met someone on FB, her name was laila, she told me about procedure, she also told me that I should join this forum, I came here learnt so much, then final VB of DV 2014 came, my CN was 99k and VB was 81200(not sure), and I realised what I have not got. Took me two months to feel okay, still hoping to get GC. One day I'll cross Atlantic and experience the United States of America.

That's a worse nightmare of a selected, what an unfortunate turn of events! I really hope it works out for you and your wife this time! Hopefully we can celebrate all together :)!
