Names misspelled on Green cards

Hello,
We received our cards yesterday. But my husband\'s name has been misspelled and my firstname has be spilt to first name and middle name. I would like to know the procedure to make these changes. And also how serious is this problem. Will it take very long to get it corrected.

I would recommend that you go read the instructions at:

Depending on your location the instructions may vary. Specifically, for NY, you should submit your application by mail. Also, call the INS customer svc 800 number: 1-800-375-5283 They will tell you exactly where & how you need to file.

Does anyone know how long it is going to take for this name changing/fixing process?

Also, is it possible to do name change before the plastic card is received (after stamp)?
