Namecheck-DONE!!!!!!!!!

Update

I just called TSC. Initially the lady (very polite, friendly) told me that the case is pending (she did not say anything about name check). Then I told her that I received e-mail from FBI about my name check and I asked if that information is updated in TSC system. After checking for a minute she told me that the namecheck information is updated and the case will be forwarded to an officer soon! (name check info was not updated last week and the bottomline is it takes about 3 weeks for USCIS/TSC to update name check info sent by FBI!)
Good luck to everyone,

Getting the case to a review officer is the key. You are sooo near, can you smell the GC yet.

best wishes

Thanks

I am smelling to some extent! I am also expecting a RFE for my wife (immunization) and may be one for me (I submitted a birth certificate that was obtained in 2004). Hope the officer understands the facts and approves it RIGHT AWAY!
I have also asked my attorney to initiate an inquiry (basically, he did not do anything after filing and I thought of giving his secretary some job!).

cala:

This is the email ID that my wife and I sent email way back in 2005 to
check if our name checks were complete: fbinncp@ic.fbi.gov

I mentioned the following information for both of us:

Name (as it appeared in I485 petition)
DOB
A#

I sent atleast five emails, once every month, to the above email.

Our cases got adjudicated by the end of June 2005 and ironically,
I never received any email from FBI with the status on the name check pending on our cases.

In my opinion, keep sending emails every month until you get a response from them. Don't give up. You don't lose a thing just by sending an email every month. In fact, you will be drawing their attention by doing so.

There was also a posting (sometime beginning of 2005) by a member about taking this issue to a senator and involving him into it before getting a response from FBI. I may have book marked the thread in my home PC. If I get it, I will post it in this thread.

Good luck.

I second it!!

Also, IMHO while sending e-mails, try to gvie some personal touch (like how your employment or family is affected because of delay). Remember that you are making a humble request (since you are in the receiving end!!!!). I would recommend sending e-mail once in 10-15 days and in each e-mail mention your previous correspondance. Do not forget to include all the important information (Name, current add., A#, receipt #, DOB and other details) with regard to your case.
Good luck,
Toxsci.

Don't overdo it for the risk of being accused of (with punitive consequences) resorting to SPAM ;)

Thanks.
Considering the possible risk, I have deleted that message. Cala, can you please do the same?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
If anybody got a good letter format/template (with good wordings) that can be sent to a senator/congressman I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Just write plain english just few sentences. Some of them are really helpful.

Dont worry about the language......
Anyway you are going see u r approvallll pretty sooon..
But try all the avenues you have to expedite it.

I have contacted local senator to help me in the security check clearance. I got a letter from their office saying they can not help in checking or expediting the case since FBI does their business in their own time and an attached letter how FBI conduct security check blah.. blah....

This is very unfair with you..

Have you tried congressman or FL?

When you sent email to FBI, did you happen to send privacy form or anything??? how did that communication happened??

Hello everyone,
I just received an e-mail from FBI (FBINNCP@ic.fbi.gov) stating that my name check was processed and finalized on May 19th. I had sent a couple of e-mails on May 15 and 16th.

I have been trying through several channels and I am not sure which one worked. Recently I contacted Senator's office and they in turn contacted USCIS (instead of FBI for some unknown reasons!)....but the FBI e-mail message was in response to my e-mail.
Steps I have taken:
1. Contacted Congressman (received reply stating that FBI received requst on Nov3, 04)
2. Requested FOIPA (received 'no-record on file' response)
3. Sent an e-mail to Secretary of State through their Website!! (response?)
4. Contacted Local FBI office and submitted a request (no reply so far)
5. Contacted local police (basically the deputy chief said they cannot do much)
6. Contacted 2 senators. (I have stated in the letter that I am unable to submit for Fedearal research grants that require permanent status. Based on this, one senator contacted USCIS..still waiting for response)
6. Faxed request to Senate subcommittee on Immigration and homeland security
7. Faxed request to house subcommittee
8. Sent an e-mail to white house regarding the possible national security risks of pending name checks..I have made no request regarding my namecheck (got usual response!)
8. Started e-mailing FBI in May, 06. (Here I assumed some reasons for the delay (like area of research.. and stated the same in my communication)

I strongly believe that my e-mail was read by a good officer and worked on it!

Good luck everyone,
