Name wrong in the receipt notice

We filed 485 for our daughter. Today we received the notice and the name is wrong. How can I notify INS to change it? Thanks.

----- send the copy of I485 filing and point out with read pen the wrong name and request then to correct it on pending I-485, write her correct Name, DOB, A# on cover letter and mail it to service center with certified return reciept, if your daughter signed the I-485 then she should sign the cover letter with correct name and address.

** out side the envelpoe write in big bold letters : USCIS mastake on Reciept notice , Please correct the name in USCIS computer system

Write to BCIS with receipt number. Some times they will not update. You can also do this change after the approval at the time stamping.
The officer will fill up the form I-89. See that name is entered properly in that form. Whatever the spelling you fill up on I-89 will appear on the GC

I-89 is used for name changes, if I remember correctly. Here girl's name is incorrectly entered, so it has to be fixed now. If you wait to use I-89, they may consider this wrong name as one of names she ever had!
 
My I-485 Approval Notice had my First Name mis-spelled. All I did was call the NSC center and told them about the problem. I asked them whether I could go for the Passport Stamping with the name mis-spelled and they told me to go ahead. I just put the correct name in the Form for application for the Plastic Card and I got my Plastic Card with the correct name. I also got a letter from USCIS about 30 days later addressing the correction.

I had similar problem with my wife's name. We tried to fix it up before approval. It did not happen. Finally it was fixed with I-89
 
I had the same problem with the name on my I-485 receipt notice.

I just called the national service number( on the notice) and within a month recieved a letter from them acknowledging the change. I also went for finger printing and told them too about the error.

Thanks for everyone. I called INS yesterday and the guy told me they will correct this error and I should receive a letter in thirty days. :)
 
incorrect name

Mine is similar case reg my wife's name
Since she has only one name (first name), INS sent the receipts for (EAD/AP/485) 'no given name' Last name ( replaced her only name as last name)

I spoke to lawyer and he sent a letter to the INS - but no reply.

How can i correct this name, should i call INS and tell them, or should i wait till after 485 stage ?

I came to know that if you have only one name it always goes as last name - is this correct ??
