Name RFEs - does this mean we have to go thru NC all over again?

Didn't get any response from the Nebraska Tracker forum. Reposting here hoping for better luck...

Hi:

Both my wife and I got RFEs because we have our English names added onto our Chinese names. The Chinese names are spelled exactly the same, all we did was add the English name to the beginning when we immigrated to Canada some years ago.

We responded to the RFE with document trails of all the names dating back to birth and the lawyer said it should be sufficient. We also got an update saying the case processing has resumed.

My question is: Do they have to put the whole thing thru FBI NC again? How long would this RFE add to the process?

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Hi Paul,

It most probably will not put you through the name check again. The FBI normally institutes only one name check per person. It sounds as though your attorney is correct in stating that those documents are enough to get you past this RFE. The RFE shouldnt add more than a couple of months onto the process.

Regards,

Justin
