Name mistake in GC

Hello,
I am a 2009 dv winner and last month I went to USA for activation trip. I was in USA for 2 weeks and went back to my home country. Next time I am planning to go to USA only after ~10 months.
Today I got message from my friend, that my GC arrived. But it has a mistake in my name. Instead of J, it is written Y in my name. As I understand I have to change the card. How it should be done? Do I need to go back to USA asap, or my friend can do this for me? and what are the steps, and how long it usually takes to replace the card?

My question is: where all papers should be sent?
I found information in USCIS, but I am not sure if I understand corretly..


All paper-based Form I-90 applications along with all supporting documentation must be filed at:

USCIS
P.O. Box 21262
Phoenix, AZ 85036

For USPS Express Mail and Courier deliveries, use the following address:

USCIS
Attention: I-90
1820 Skyharbor, Circle S Floor1
Phoenix, AZ 85034

if you are sending I-90 with normal post like USPC send to below address

You need to fill up the form and Sign the form and need to send the Card with form (ask your friend to make Copy of the card front anf back and keep with him/her). better send the form to your friend so that he/she can mail from US. You can still enter US with that Card (if you get Card out of US and your relative/friend brings that card to you, USCIS is not going to send the card out of US)
** best option is to get your Card when you are out of US and then come to US and at POE show your Card and once you are in US then file form I-90. at this time it is taking 5-6 months for getting new corrected card after filing I-90.
FYI the Airline ticket is based on your name that is on your passport.

--------------------No. They will swipe your card and officer has your photograph on his computer and will just look at you and may ask normal question “how many days you were out of US” “what you do”
