Hi, I received my greencard last May 2007 but never got around to changing my passport. See, my passport still bears my maiden name but my GreenCard shows my married name already. i need to travel back to The Philippines immediately, will my having different names on my passport and greencard present a problem upon re-entering the US? Thanks.

change the name on your passport. at US POE they need GC and Airline ticket is based on passport name

If you can't get your passport changed before your trip, bring a marriage certificate that shows both your maiden name and married name.

Take it from first hand experience.....you don't have to change your name in your current passport.

When I still had my Green Card, it was in my married name and my passport had my maiden name.

When I would travel internationally, I always booked my ticket using my maiden name so that it matched my passport. This is what the airlines check the ticket against (ie. passport). They check the Green Card but it's more to ensure that you are able to get back into USA. I have never had a problem travelling this way.

Don't worry about your passport...you'll be alright. :)
