It is a small understandable mistake - they are not going to disqualify you for that and will most like just correct it in the interview. However, given that it is your name I recommend you email KCC to explain the error - or perhaps even call them. It will be some months before your interview, so there is time to correct the issue.

Dear Okonkwo,

Personally I think it's one of those minor mistakes that can be corrected by KCC. From your name, I guess you are from Nigeria and considering quick decisions by COs in Nigeria, will not advise you to leave it to be corrected at interview...Had similiar issue of name error and called KCC and she told me it has been corrected... I think you should call and mail them as well... Goodluck

Britsimon,

i have same kind of problem, two of my academic certificate have same surname and in my graduate certificate there is just a change of a single alphabet( i.e 'a' in first two certificate and 'o' in graduate certificate) But i used surname with alphabet 'o' . Does this create problem in the time of interview. Please kindly answer on my worries.

I don't think that will be an issue - in fact that will barely be noticed. If asked just be sure to have a sensible explanation why that happened and if you have any other documents (such as University photo ID cards) that tie YOU to your academic records, that would be good to have ready also.

Just to explain why I say it will barely be noticed. If you read the transcripts from successful interviews you will see that the interviews are generally quick and the questions asked are minimal. If you go in smartly dressed, with a well presented set of documents and an honest and open attitude, that will come across well and the CO will feel reassured. They are not looking to catch you out - they are just doing their job, and they would (I believe) rather make some happy than make someone unhappy.

The outcome of your 2012 selection shouldn't have any bearing on your 2015 selection provided you meet the DV requirement, and your previous denial wasn't based on anything fraudulent.
