Name Check

I have sent it a week back and waiting for the response. Lot of people got the reply from FBI on name check inquiries at the same time lot of people have applied and waiting for response.
 
i sent 2 e-mails to FBI requesting name check status one on 25 Oct and other on 8 Nov.

I still did not hear anything from them even after 36 days going by my first e-mail.
 
I sent an email on Oct 8 and got a reply yesterday. According to them Namecheck was completed in Jan 2003...I wonder what VSC is doing with that ? :mad: :mad: :mad:

Hi beavis,

I got that the following reply regarding me and wife.

The FBI completed a record check for the both of you on April 4, 2003, and the results were forwarded to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services,
Washington, DC.

Incidently my ND is 03/31/03 so I am surprised that how they turned around in 4 days.

What is exactly name check and how is it being done by FBI?
Can somebody through a light on that?

I-140 ad : April 2004
Name check request sent on 10/14/04 till now no reply from fbi
I-485 ad : ????????????
 
When the Name Check is performed by FBI ? After FP?
I mean i want to know the differnce between FP & Name Check.

I-140 - ND July 2003
I-485 - ND 10/16/03
I140 Approved in May 2004
FP1 - 11/20/04

Current msg: "On xxxxx we responded to your request for more information......"


I called the CSC emergency number today. The officer was very helpful, she first checked and said my FP's are good and done. Then she checked and said Name Check from FBI is not yet done and they are waiting for this.

I emaild and faxed the name check status lines today. Hope they get this done soon !

beavis, what is the emergency number for VSC ? I called the standard 800 number and spoke with an IIO but they told me that they can't give me info if my FP or Name Check were completed or not as they have no access to that information ?!

I have a mistake in my A# during FP and I wanted to correct that, I even faxed them but they told me there is nothing can be done at this point... it's so frustrating... :(

Sorry, Iam in the CSC, reason I posted here was because it is a name check issue in general. If I happen on the VSC number I will post it here.
