I went to the district office yesterday to check the status of my N400. My case is still pending name check:( The representative told me the same, it is taking 3 to 6 months on average from the time of fingerprint. But he told me in some cases it is still taking up to 18 months

I did my fingerprint in 22 December 2004. My question: anybody did the fingerprint in december and had his name check pending at the time of interview but it is clear by now?????????

I sent notices to the FBI, no reply yet. I got my senator involved, they sent a notice to the FBI two weeks ago and they did not hear from them yet.

Thanks
Steve

Why do these stupid employees even mention about fingerprints. The name check time counts from the day the FBI gets the name check request from the INS. You might get your fingerprints done but the INS could fail to initiate the name check request at the same time. They better tell you when was the request initiated. If you sent a letter to the FBI requesting the status of your name check you'll get the response in an e-mail in about 2-3 weeks after you sent it.

Did you send it by certified mail. Do you know if they received your letter.
Also, did you put your e-mail address in your letter. They seam to respond in e-mail only.

Anahit,
Yes i sent my letter Certified with delivery confirmation. i received an electronic delivery confirmation from my post office stating that it was delivered on March 12th. and the person who received it is called Mr. M. Simon. Does anybody know him?
And i sure enclosed my email address in the letter because i knew that's how they reply.

Yep, have a priority date of Jan 3, fingerprint on Feb 1 and got approval today, which means my name check was cleared.

I checked my dates again. I sent the letter on February 7. They received it on February 17. I got an e-mail from Hardy on February 24th. Maybe you can call the FBI and ask them to check if an e-mail was sent to you. Maybe they misspelled your e-mail address or something. Hope it helps.

The guy named Murv

I think I know the guy. His name is Murv. Murv Simon. He used to work as an Analyst in the National Name Check Section. He used to check Nepalese names. The job was very stressful. For the year 2004 he only managed to finalize 2 names. He got transferred in January.

He delivers mail now. The job pays the same.

You know PRUSA, you are not funny at all!! what i meant when i said , does anybody know him, i meant like anybody heard from him regarding a name check, or anybody titled any correspondence to him! If you have a lot of extra time to waist please go do something else!
Rahul , please note this irresponsible behavior. Thank you .

On the other hand, it could have been Markus Simon. Sorry, I don’t know much about Markus.
