Name check still pending. Unable to get access

I applied for I0485 in May 2004. About 4 motnhs ago, I received a letter from USCIS stating that name check in pending for my application. I called Senators office and they sent in enquiry to USCIS 5 weeks ago. Still no reply.

I called Case status toll free line and entered my case number. It says it cannot find information about my case. When I called 6 months it at least said the case is pending. Is this common?

Is there a way to get to Texas service center directly? It is very frustrating to wait for such a long time for this.

1-800-375-5283---select 1—select 2—select 6—select 1—enter your SRC number—select 1---select 3—and select 4 to speak to a TSC representative. If your I-485 SRC doesn’t work, punch in your I-140 SRC after going back to the main menu. When the representative asks for SRC number, give your 485 SRC

I just called USCIS-VSC and inquired about my NC status. A nice laddy said that everything is ok with FBI and case is pending `cause they`re waiting results from another agency, other then FBI. Asked about the dates NC was cleared, she mentioned that it doesn`t show on her screen.

it works at other service centers as well - just you need to have a number with the respective prefix (WAC, SRC and so on). The system will route you whereever your prefix is from.

Your I-485 case number may have been locked. Did you make the inquiry including calling the USCIS many times?

Other than FBI Namecheck - It's getting crazy!

I have heard of cases wherein namecheck comes back cleared through FBI but then they will say namecheck from CIA/other departments etc is still outstanding......in cases of US Citizenship applications only...

I never heard of such excuses - in cases of 485 adjustment of status applications...

USCIS/FBI is just coming up crazy ways to keep us stalled!
