Name Check Statistics

Hi,

After three months of filing, I was told by TSC that my NC is still pending. Based on USCIS's memo, 80% of the cases can be cleared in two months, and only less than 1% of the cases take longer than six months. Do you believe their statistics? I am a little bit concerned. Lots of my people waited longer than a year.

from which country r u? i honestly don 't believe that 1% wait for more than 6 months. but i have no statistics.just my opinion.hope i'm wrong.

The "1%" they are so proud of is extremely huge number given the limited resources of FBI NNCP division. There are about 80000 cases stuck in namecheck for over a year (2003-2005).

80000 out of how many? 1 millions or what? from where did u get this number?

USCIS is smart when it comes to fudging numbers....
I am sure it's lot more....like 30%...

For instance, back in April of last year in 2005...they samrtly excluded all the India/China applications based on Priority Date to show that they successfully reduced their backlog...Hee Hee...

Even for citizenship cases, they proudle proclaim that they met the 6 month processing target for all applications in their control (to smartly exclude namecheck pending applications pending with FBI)....

Their reporting staff is smart enough to show the right numbers...

Also they approve some applications in record time so as to manipulate the statistics, i.e., average and standard deviation of their processing time.

I am from China.
My point is that much more than 1% of the I-485 cases waited longer than six months to clear the NC. I don't have much confidence for the statistics published by USCIS.

sure it is not 1 %, i believe it is about 15 % or so that wait more than 6 months or even a year. the 1 % is a joke.

Background Check Service

This report is interesting. It states:

"The high volume of FBI name check cases and the relatively limited resources devoted to background and security checks are major problems. The FBI’s manual processing exacerbates delays. USCIS’ planned Background Check Service (BCS), a new IT system that will track the status of background and security checks for pending cases, needs to be implemented as soon as possible. The Ombudsman looks forward to more information from USCIS on the BCS implementation schedule."

Any idea when this system will be implemented?
