Name check question

HI,

I have recently got my FOIPA documents which I have applied for, about 1.5 years ago.
One of the forms says ....

IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION SERVICE FBI NAME CHECK RESPONSE

A-NUMBER: 00000000000
OR
LAST NAME: XXX (MY LAST NAME)
FIRST NAME: XXX (MY FIRST NAME)

DATE OF BIRTH: 000000000


NO DATA FOUND FOR REQUEST



Does it mean that my name check is cleared?
Please try to share your two cents.

I called using POJ method, but I got connected to national service center, instead of TSC. How to get connected to TSC? Anybody any ideas please?
 
After you entered the receipt number, wait for the standard status message and then it will say something like..press ** if you want to proceed to next steps. I think the option is 3 and then 4. You will get message saying that you are transfered to TSC. If you don't hear the message then you are not connected to TSC.

I could reach them, but they are not ready to disclose the details about my name check. She says, its an internal thing and could not reveal to me.
I tried to call again, hoping to get some friendly officer on line but unfortunately I ended up talking to the same person and she got irritated.
Don't know what to do now
 
POJ trick worked..

I used POJ trick yesterday noon. A nice lady spoke to me.
I asked is my name check and back ground check cleared she told no.
When it was initiated ? July 2005.
Why taking such a long time ? You have been scheduled for FP on May 18th after that only will know. "I really didnt understand."

Anyway planning to call 2 weeks after my FP.

Finally spoke to a rep who told me that my security check is pending.:mad:
Is security check the same as name check?

I am relatively new to this forum and I am not sure how to do FOIPA.

Can you please tell me what forms that I need to send and where?

It is on the FBI web-site. I did it a week ago - I wrote a letter stating that I am going to pay up to $250, listed all my names, DOB, A#, etc, nothing happened so far. I was advised to do PA for my own files and don't do FOIA, because it is for the third party info. in addition, I have sent PA to CIS (they have a form on their web-page).

I think you are getting confused with the garden variety FOIPA request that most of us sent to FBI early on in the game - the "No records found" letters that we got from the FBI only checked the "main files", not the "reference" files - thus that was not an indication of name check clearance. Then, of course we contacted senators, FL etc . . ., and got confirmation of NC status.

In contrast, The FOIA request that MA_Labor etc. are referrring to is the FOIA request with the USCIS - it appears to take much longer (1 year+) but it provides all the info that USCIS has regarding your immigration history in the US. Clearly, the quoted portions refer to FBI name check, wherein the FBI did not find any records.

It is, thus my opinion, that the NC of MA_Labor etc. have been cleared.
