"Name Check ORdered" Date

I received the FP notice for 1/16/2007 today. The online status for the case says received and pending. How/When will I know (if ever) that my case has gone for name check? I have seen people putting the "name check ordered" date in their signature which is usually very close to the priority date. My question is how do you actually come to know of it if the dates are so closely tied together?

Generally when you get the FP done is when the Name Check is ordered. So in your case it will be around 1/16/2007. After FP is done give it 6-8 weeks and then go for an InfoPass. During the InfoPass ask the officer:

1. Has the FingerPrinting completed successfully?
2. Has the Name Check completed successfully?

As N400Applier said, they order NC around the same time when they send you FP notice.

My FP was ordered June 22nd, and NC on the following day, i.e. on June 23rd.

Didn't they stop sending out interview letters since May '06 if NC hasn't cleared?

Name check and finger print

Do we have to find out the name check and finger print status? Should not we wait for the interview date?? I am just confused.
