Name check message from FBI

RD: 8/21/03 and FP done on 10/8/04....EB3 (both primary and dependent).
The only change to the LUD was on 11/17/04 with standard message on FP results received......blah blah blah! LUD cnaged for primary as well without any change in message.

Sent an e-mail to confirm status of Name Check to the FBI account on 10/8/04 and received a response today saying that they have not received any request from the USCIS. Response received only for the dependent.

Not sure what to make of this - any ideas? Meanwhile, some people I know with the same RD or 8/20/03 have received approvals.

Any comments are appreciated. Thanks.

In one of threads in this forum I read that the above message implies completion of name check. But, from your posting, it looks like NOT.

The mis-communication between USCIS & FBI is thoroughly screwing up all genuine cases. Of course its luck too.
 
you bet...

It screwed our cases very badly. NO request to FBI and don't know what's next? with EB3 retro we missed the route no. 485 bus...

I sent an e-mail to FBI many times, but never received reply back. I sent in september, october and November and this month too.

Is there any other way, we can findout the name check is done or not.

I seen many LUD changes for me and my dependents. not sure whats going on. why my case is delayed? I know there are many people before me and waiting for approval. Since LUD changes in our case, we do frustrated waiting like this

I think now they are replying only if the name check is cleared. I got a reply from them only after my name check is cleared. Sent E-mail in Sept, Oct, nov, December also. But got the reply from FBI on Dec 26th saying my Name check is cleared on December 20th 2004. Before that NO Resopnse for Sep, Oct, Nov E-mails.....

Sorry to know that name check from uscis is not initiated. May be senior forum members could be in a position to give you advise.
Even I want to send an email to fbi to know if name check has been initiated. Would you please let me know the content and format of the email you sent to fbi for name check inquiry?

I emailed a request on Oct 13 and got a reply yesterday that my name check is still pending. So it's not that FBI will give u a reply only when your name check is completed. They will send u a reply aaram se...

All I sent was my first and last name, A# and the DOB. The subject line said :Name check inquiry - USCIS". Basically, I assumed that they would me more interested in just the bare facts and so I did not add any other sentences (except to say "Thanks" at the end :))

Well......we know now that a response from FBI is not dependent on whether the name check has been completed or not. In my case, the response was that they have not received any request from USCIS. Not sure where that leaves us.
 
I e-mailed FBI twice (25 Oct and 8 Nov) regarding my name check, but still didn't hear from them anything yet.

BUT when I called USCIS using the TIP in this forum, I got a lady who told me thatmy case is on track and everything is OK. When I asked her about my name check, she said that it was done recently, then I asked her whether it was on 21 and 22 Dec, she said Yes (My LUD changed on 21 and 22 Dec). I am confused whether she misinterpreted the FP with the name check as my FP was also done on 18 Nov and results received on 30 Nov.

I asked her whether my case was with adjudicator, she said Yes, and said she didn't know the time frame for my case to be adjudicated.

I don't know what to believe.

Waiting for the FBI e-mail to verify this.
