Q. Does getting "stuck" is random or is done with some other parameters?

Some of my gusses ..

Q. What is usual processing time for the name check?
If not stuck then one even does not notice it, if stuck then months to 2-3 years.

Q. Why do some people get "stuck" in the name check?
Some one with similar name (spelling or phonetic) and have similar DOB is in the DB being checked.

Q. Does getting "stuck" is random or is done with some other parameters?
It is random to the extent that some one with similar name (spelling or phonetic) and have similar DOB is in the DB being checked.

Q. If we have a "common" name, does it increase the chance of delay in the name check? Or if we have "unique" names does it make name check faster?
Common name increases the probability of getting stuck and once stuck then common or unique name has no impact on time to get cleared.

Q. If we have stamped our H1 (or L1) just before applying for I-485, does it make the name check faster?

will_bet_there_1,

Thanks buddy for the answers.

Even my I-485 is applied at the similar time as yours.

Are you in the Name Check process now?

When I asked them they said "6 weeks". When my lawyers asked they said "name check". I don't know who to trust. But, I asked in June and my lawyers asked in September.
