Hi,

I had my AOS interview on March 7th 2006 and the officer approved our case but she said it was pending for name check. Today I got this email from USCIS:

On April 7, 2006, a welcome notice was mailed for this case. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice. Please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283 during business hours.

Does this mean the my name check was complete?

Yes! Congratulations!!
You're quite lucky that your name check has been cleared sooner. I vaguely remember that your DO is Newark. Can you confirm?
This is really good news for you. Your welcome letter will be followed by GC soon.

This is incredible, your time line. You had your interview 3 months after your received your notice. Is there some mystery? How does BCIS work and handle things?I had my interview in January, still no welcome letter,I-130 still not approved,I-485 not approved. At least the web site says so.What's the logic behind this, anyone can explain?
I'm really starting to freak out:(

My I-130 has not been approved yet, but reading some other posts it doesn't seem it matters once your I-485 is approved. Why isn't your I-485 approved yet? are you stuck in name check or something?

I know that my timeline is very fast. I am really surprised given how many Mexican immigrants are there in Tucson. I guess they are all there illegally - Just kidding :D

I don't know why I-485 hasn't been approved yet.Is it supposed to be approved after the name check? My passport has been stamped,I can tell you this much. But the web site for 485 says that they received my finger prints and are processing. What are they processing,it's been almost 11 months since they received them.I am really puzzled!

What is your DO?

You said that you passport is stamped, is it stamped with the green card stamp? if yes this means that your namecheck was complete at the time of the interview. You can take an infopass appt and check why you didn't get your card yet.

Yes,the officer stamped my passport.Admitted to temporary residency until January,2007.My DO is Atlanta. Also,I was told that the green card should be in mail in 3-4 weeks. But neither my case status has been updated nor did I receive my green card. Are you sure that you get stamped only after name check?

I am pretty sure that your passport wont have been stamped with GC stamp if your name check was not received yet. The officer would have told you that he/she can't approve the case right away because they didn't receive the name check results. I really have no clue why your case has not been updated yet. As I said if the DO is not too far from where you are take an info pass appt, bring your stamped passport and ask them why your case has not been updated yet.
