Name check cleared - What is next NeedHelp, Rajudm, expert need advice

Alteast my name check was cleared after 15 months on APR 15th, I recieved following email confirmation from FBI. I know needhelp1 and other had procedure to follow up with USCIS, friends pls help me understand what I should do next in order to get this information verified and send expedit letter to VSC (like documents i should attach, etc). Thanks for your help.

I am responding to your most recent letter of April 13, 2005, directed to Mr. William L. Hooton, Assistant Director of our Records Management Division concerning your name check.

A review of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Name Check Program database revealed that your request, received from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), was processed and finalized on April 15, 2005. The results were forwarded to the USCIS Headquarters, Washington, DC.

Could you please share with us what you did to expedite your name check? Did you write FBI a letter? What is your reason to expedite? If so, it seems they cleared your name check right away. My name check is pending since July 2003.

I wrote several letter to David, Hootan and some other people in name check department.. i have been trying to expedite my name check since aug 2004..But it looks like my letter to MR. Hooton helped this time.. Good luck friend.. Dont give up ur hope.. I was under same situation.. but I kept on trying hoping one day they take time to look at our letter... The trick is to keep trying at regular interval like every month. Friends any idea on next step.

Date you sent FBI email

I sent email on Jan 4 2005. I am yet to get a reply.

I think your biggest hurdle is cleared Hurray! and now you can opt for one the actions as below stated and you can actually try all. I would first try to initiate status inquiry through Lawyer or myself and if it doesn't work in 2 Months, I would go to congressman for help. Please use your judgement.

1. You can actually ask your lawyer to initiate an inquiry through AILA.

2. You can raise an inquiry through NCSC (1800) or You can fax an expedite request to USCIS and give them a very valid reason why they need to expedite your case and also tell them that your Name Check got cleared by FBI and you can also attach the emai for proof or else they will come up with a stupid generic reply.

3.You can contact your local representative and request there help in processing your case. And also you need to tell the congressman the complete case history and I am sure they will be of great help.

I know you were in similar situation and got approved in 2 months. I have called and created status inquiry. Getting ready to fax expedite request with copy of email from FBI.

Do you know by any chance how long it takes before the USCIS can verify my name check results.. cas this morning i called them they said its still pending.. pls help me understand the process. Thanks
 
I have sent letter via USPS certified mail couple of weeks back to standard address in the forum. Included name, application# and other details and requested to expedite name check. I feel letter has better response time.

I sent multiple emails for last couple of month to the "FBINNCP Email" <FBINNCP.Email@ic.fbi.gov>, but I guess the snail mail via USPS made the difference. If u look at the response they clearly stated responding to ur letter ! which i sent about couple of weeks back.
 
I strongly suggest not to send multiple similar emails very frequently as it will unnessarily delay others. I would say the best option will be to mail letter instead of email again don't mail multiple letter as recently I heard somebody got into trouble because of that.

And regarding your question, It generally takes some where around 3 weeks to get into the USCIS system once the FBI sends the response. I am guessing this timeframe based on my experience and then you should try to expedite your request anytime after 3 to 4 weeks.

If you follow NeedHelp1's suggestion you would be there ....

You need to followup with congressmen's office. VSC cannot lie to them, so you would hear the exact status. If you haven't contacted local congressmen...do it soon.

I sent to Mr. David Hardy, but it looks like now there is a different person in charge of NNCP program.

Thanks Rajudm and NeedHelp, I sent email to senator's office and planning to send fax to expedite in another week or so. lets see how it goes.
