Name Check Cleared but INS says it is still waiting: Please HELP..Any suggestions ?

Hello All,
I-485 Receipt date: April 26, 2002 (Yes - 2002!!) EB-2

I got a letter as well as en e-mail from the FBI stating that my name check was approved and forwarded to the Washington Office on February 2004.
However, 2 months after this letter, i made 2 AILA enquiries as well as faxed the copy of the letter to the INS (TSC) many times.

Both the AILA responses were: Still waiting for FBI background/name check.

What should i do ?
My Senator/Congressman says they cannot do anything.

PLEASE HELP. I am just lost...

If I were you, I would apply EAD/AP and attach all the letter from FBI/AILA etc with the application, this way your know for sure someone will read the letter.

Also, call USCIS to make an inquiry, stating what you wrote here.

Your situation is exact the same as mine. My name check was cleared on Jan, 1, 2004, but USCIS still says my National Security check is pending. I sent lot of faxes to USCIS regarding this issue, no response.
