Name Check Clearance

I read some many stories in several forums and can't seem to understand this Name Check thing , I did my FP on 8/02/05 and FBI states that they sent info back to USCIS the same day , does that mean FP and Name check is completed ?


I read somewhere that Name Check is normally done before FP or before they even issue you the EAD , is that correct ?

learned that FP was sent back to NSC within hours but the USCIS website does not dsay so. No msg change. Will call for Name Check as well later today

Seems like there is no status check anymore. Atleast thats what I was told few minutes back. Is that true?

I called up that number and they said me they have a huge back log
and cannot do any status checks. Wonderful system.
