Name Check and FOIPA

Last month requested the from FBI FOIPA.

Today I received the Letter form FBI about FOIPA saying

"No Records responsive to your FOIPA request were located by a search of the automated indices."

Do you has any one suggestion:
1. Is this FOIPA Name check is different than GC Name check?

2. After received the FOIPA letter from FBI did any one approach to USCIS.


Please share the experience about this.

I am stack in the NC for long time.
 
1. Yes, the FOIPA name check is totally different from the GC name check. The former searches by main file records, while the latter is through indexed references also. Hence the former takes a few minutes, while the latter can take years.

2. I did not, but I believe some other people used the FOIPA letter to contact Congressmen, FL, etc.

The FBI usually sends a response to FOIA request (1 page) with a detailed explanation (another page) that under no circumstances FOIA might be considered as "name check". Didn't they send you that?
