Hi ,
I wanted to know if it is more advisable to change name (after marraige) during the GC process or to change it after the GC is approved.
Does anyone have any experience with changing their name

If you have a choice, keeping the old name would be the least confusing ...

Atleast all your docs (from birth cert onwards) would have the same name :)

Added bonus -- don't have to do anything after divorce and the next marriage :) j/k

Chicago_gc,

I did change my name. I got married & then we got our labor approved. So, I changed my name while filing I-140. And that was a very logical point to file for name change. If I were you, I would not change my name in between I-485 process. But ask your lawyer, if it is easier to do it now, one advantage is, you will get your GC with new name.
