I am planning to opt to choose my name as in my passport as the name I would like to use and to appear on my naturalization certificate. There is a slight difference in my name on my GC and Passport, I have a long last name and a middle name, actually what happened was,my name is K.S .Raj
on my passport the initials had to be expanded : K******** S********** Raj
is how it appears in my passport, but when my GC was processed my name came up as : K******** S********** R
my DL says : K******** S********** R
and my SSN says : Raj K S*********

Should i send a copy of my Passport with N400? I have checked the option about the name change. Am i required to write a letter stating my need and wish?

PS: Are minor spelling missmatches between names (or spelling) between TAX documents, Passport, SSN, GC a big issue ? or nothing really huge as everything is tied to the ssn # ? Will this Name issue make my Naturalization process harder and time consuming or is this something the IO deals with on a daily basis, that it doesnt demmand extra time ?

All you have to do is check the name change box and indicate the new name. No need to send a copy of your passport or a cover letter.

Minor spelling mismatches on various documents are not a big deal at all. My last name was spelled in three different ways on various documents. However, you may want to indicate the variations of your name in the "Other Names Used" section.
