Name change on I-94

I went to Social security office to apply for my social security card. They said that the Last name in my new I-94 and the records in the computer shows slight difference. ie the new I-94 is showing exactly right. But the records in the computer are showing my full name as the last name. My first name is ASHA and last name is PHILIP. But in computer records it is ASHA as first name and ASHAPHILIP(first name + Last name) as the last name. How can I validate these documents?

ur best bet would be to call USCIS or contact the port of entry for correction of records.

Last week, my friend who arrived from India recently, went to Social security office. They found that his name has spelling mistake in his USCIS computer records. They ask him to go to USCIS office.

Today, he went to USCIS office at Charleston. However, USCIS officer told him to go to POE office (Border patrol immigration office). I call them up and they told that unless there is a correction in I-94, they cannot do anything.

The spelling mistake is done by Data entry people at London, Kentucky office. They ask us to write a letter to them.

We are thinking to write a letter with explanation.
