Name Change for Children after parents name change during Naturalization

Hi,

I am planning to change my last name during my naturalization. My children last name also to be changed. Wondering, if children name could be changed while applying for passport?

Also, the hassels after changing last name?

Unfortunately, naturalization of parents does not change Children's names. You have to go through your local court and change names. Hassles - just the paperwork and the time it takes to manage this.

Check with your County (or equivalent) Court for the process of changing names of minors. Its usually pretty straightforward (unlike Adults where you have to advertise in newspapers etc).
