Name Change Court Approval

Upon the naturalization, I changed my legal name. I expected to receive an court order for name change at the oath ceremony but did not receive it. I asked the USCIS officer how I can receive the court order and was told by the officer that I would receive it within 2 weeks. It's passed more than a month. But I have not received it. Where and how can I get a copy of the court order???

Your Natz Certificate has your new name on it, have you tried using that to change the rest of your Docs?

It is often not sufficient to show the naturalization certificate; many places such as the DMV will want to see a court document showing both the old and new names.
 
Jackolantern is 100% correct. Based on my personal experience, I was asked to produce my name change certificate by various organizations, such as Social Security, DMV, and even a couple of my credit cards. When it comes to proving name change, the name change cert trumps the natz cert.

To answer the OP's question, I've never heard of instances where a name change certificate was issued several weeks AFTER the oath. They are normally given out at the oath, along with the naturalization certificate. What you can do is go to the court where your oath was conducted and request a duplicate certificate. They'll charge you a small fee and issue the certificate on the spot.

The Name change is public record - Go the the court where you took the oath. They will be able to give you one.....The document is prepared by the interviewing officer.
 
Thanks guys. So I could pick it up after the oath ceremony... I will go there next week to pick it up.
