name chage (correction)

Hi my wife's name was switched between her first name and last name on her Green card. It has been wrong ever since. Her DL and SS card are also in wrong order since they refused to correct the mistake and wanted to follow what was on her GC. We never did a name correction on the GC since we thought we would fix it when we got her citizenship.

I have put in the name change in the n-400 application.

The question I have what do I have to take besides passport for the name change to the interview as documentation of the name change..

------------------Many have that mistake on Cards and can be fixed at the time of Interview. It has been wrong ever since. Her DL and SS card are also in wrong order since they refused to correct the mistake and wanted to follow what was on her GC. We never did a name correction on the GC since we thought we would fix it when we got her citizenship.
-------------------Not a problem it can be corrected at the time of her Interview.I have put in the name change in the n-400 application.
-----------------------It is not a name change. the officer can correct in the USCIS system .

She should take any document from USCIS that has her correct name. Her I-485 receipt should have her correct Last name then First name or Part of First name. Take the copy OF EAD, AP or I-485 filing receipt, birth certificate, Marriage certificate, Passport. If on form I-485 her information was entered wrong then it was not USCIS mistake and she can correct any mistake at the tome of Interview.
** post the info also in Newark thread so that if somebody had same issue with GC then they can update you what extra document they took at the time of interview.

This is the right time to request name change on your N-400 application. Some USCIS District Offices provide the name change service at the time of interview while some offices do not (eg. San Francisco, San Jose), it has to be done in the superior court of county where you live.
