NAC / BC issue

As i stated in earlier posts, my wife's birth registered a day earlier by mistake (common misconception about night / morning). But the guy resposible for register in the municipal office refuse to change because of lack of evidence (she was born at home). He also refuses to give NAC. (obviously, he has no helping tendency; hopeless guy) All her school certificates and marriage certificate has the correct date and since i have already given this date for GC processing, i dont want to use the BC date to change everything else.

I remember reading a post, where s/he managed to complete interview successfully without BC/NAC, just with afidavits and school leaving certificate. my wife has T.C. from her college (she had to submit her school T.C. to college when she joined). Do you think she can get by just with T.C from college and affidavits?

Thanks

Affidavit for BC

Affidavits showing the birth date from the parents should be good enough. And from now on keep the new date in all docs.
Thanks.

so, u mean, i can manage without NAC or BC? How do i convince the consular officer? I dont want to carry her BC as it has incorrect date of birth (a day earlier). I cant carry NAC, as i cant get it. I will have only affidavit from parents/relatives and school/college certificates. what do i say, if the consular officer demands NAC or BC?
thanks

The reason you are taking an affidavit for birth certificate is that your don't have the birth certificate.

Secondly, I am not sure if the consular officer will insist on the NAC as they are aware of the processes in India and how they are followed. Just tell the consular officer that the required coropration refused to give one.

The consular officer and the US government just want to make sure that there is some document to support the birth of an individual. The TC from college should be able to support the date of birth.

Thanks & Good luck.

what cpdelhi is saying is true. Carry affidavits of birth from your parents along with school leaving certificates and that should work.

Also the reason you will not / cannot get a NAC is becoz NAC is a non-availability certificate but your BC is available just that it has incorrect date of birth.

SO my suggestion is that get 2 affidavits from each parent stating that reason for affidavit is incorrect date of birth in the BC.

In my case, my mother's complete name was not present in BC so I got affidavits from each of my parents and eldest brother stating the reason for affidavit as incomplete parents name.

This will work.

So, i should carry my BC along with 2 affidavits, right? Will the consular officer ask my wife to change the date of birth in DS230 to the date in BC? This is what i am trying to avoid. If he accepts the affidavit and BC with incorrect date and leave the date of birth untouched, it would be great.

I would carry the BC with affidavits and school leaving certificate. I do not see a problem and more than likely the birth date will go un-noticed. Even if the officer realizes explain to him/ her based on the above documents that you carry. Treat the Consular Officer as friend...there is no reason to be scared of them. The CO's job during CP interview is to make sure two things: there is no illegality involved and that medical records are fine. Dont worry, be happy.
