I looked ver the State departments information on this but I am still not 100% clear that when I become naturalized what are the steps for bringing my child here.

These are the facts:

he lives with his mother in another country and she has legal custody

He does not have a GC

I live in the US and have done so for the past 5 years

His mother and I have agreed that it would be best for him to come and live with me here and go to school here, she has agreed to formally give me legal custody and we will go to the family court in the foreign country to do this procedure.

Where an how do I bring him here?

If anyone can help, thank you!

Once the child is admitted into the US with a GC and lives in your custody he is considered a US citizen by law, no need to apply for any documentation from USCIS. Of course you need to get the child a passport.

Thanks

thank you for the advice, I was completely off track on thinking subk,it n-400k or something.

The GC is the avenue I will pursue whenthe time comes.

Thanks again!
