Both my wife and I recieved our RN of N-400 application mailed to WSC on 08/04/08, RD/PD-08/08/08, ND-08/13/08.

In the receipt notice, it is mentioned that " ..... your application has been transferred to the USCIS National Benefits Center in order to assist with the processing. The transfer is an administrative function only and will not interfere with the processing of your application."

Is transferring application to USCIS NBC usual process? I thought it will be transferred to San Jose, CA(Field office) instead.

That's the new manner of N-400 processing. It's normal.
