N400: Tax Transcripts

I will be eligible to apply for citizenship on Tuesday (6/17/08 using the 90 day rule).

I ordered the free tax transcripts from the IRS last week - they should arrive next week. I am also going to order the 1040 ($39/year) just to be safe. However, these may take up to 60 days.

Should I wait until these documents arrive before I apply?
I could turn them in if CIS issues an RFE, but what's the best course?

Thanks again

Apply rightaway - without waiting for these documents. Tax transcripts are not required to be submitted.

I had them with me, but the IO never asked me for it. Just a question if I have filed/paid my taxes.

Good luck

i sent copies of my IRS stuff for last 3 years. and then during the interview i was asked only for 07, considering at the time of application we had still not filed our taxes. so, if i were you i'd send w2 forms and whatever forms you have when you filed your IRS taxes, and then bring the rest to the interview

vlorak,
1. Did u apply based on "marriage" for N-400?
2. Or maybe your greencard was "Family based"?

Otherwise they dont usually ask for Tax transcripts (based on what I read here)

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll file this weekend. I will also turn in a request for the 1040 copies just in case.
