Hello there,

I'm going to mail N-400 application soon and I need help figuring out documents, I appreciate any help.

I'm applying using fours years + one day rule.
Here's my timeline:
Permanent resident since 7/2007
Left the US for about 300 days from 12/2007 to 10/2008
Never left the US since my return on 10/2008

In 2008 I only worked only in December and I didn't file for tax returns because I had low income.
I have tax transcripts for 2009, 2010, 2011 and I have pay stubs for all 2012.
So I can prove for the last 4 years.

* Do I need to have proofs for 2008 ? Or 4 years are enough since I'm applying through 4 years plus 1 day ?
* Also, do I need to attach these with my N-400 ? Or just keep them with me until the interview ?

Thanks!

here is my .02:
From what I know, Yes you need tax returns for 2008. One of the questions in N-400 is : Have you ever missed filing taxes since you became Resident? If you answer yes to it, you need to provide necessary needed documents stated there.
I would attach the copies of all of them with N-400 and carry the originals with you to the interview.

These are just my thoughts.
