Has anyone completed and applied N400 by him/herself? Was there any problem during the processing?

I am thinking of applying myself to save money. My case is very straight forward. But I would liked to know whether there can be any problem. I will be filing from Atlanta GA, so it will be Texas Service center.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

If you have straight forward, you can file yourself. That's what i did but make sure to read all the possibilities on this site. Just in case, you can never be confident with INS.

I have applied for N-400 myself and there were no problems - my case is also very straight forward and the application for N-400 is not very difficult. :) The best way is to fill out a dummy application and see if you can do it yourself.

Thanks,

You should do it yourself, then double chack it.

Where to sent the application N400

Do I need to send it both to District office at Atlanta as well as Texas Service Center?

Moreover as my wife GC got approved 2 months later , can she file separately after two months? Can this create problem as we are not filing together?

For your first question asked, you should send it to Texas Service Center - they will send it to Atlanta DO after they process their part

I am in the process of preparing to file N-400 myself, and this is my first post here ... I know I should be nice, but, answers to the questions that you asked can be easily found here on this forum.

My observation is that filing the N-400 is quite straightforward, compared with filing the I-485 (especially employment based), so it is definitely possible to do it yourself.

But, you have to do your own homework. Go to the USICS website, spend some time reading the posts here and other resources found on the internet, etc. That's why even though I have been eligible for a while, I am holding off my application and spending time to gather more information. In my opinion, when you send the application to the USICS, you must have a clear view of the road ahead and what you must do at each step. If you are not the type that pays attention to all the details, then it's probably better to hire a lawyer.

Good luck!

If your case is straight forward with NO complications, go ahead and apply it yourself. I did apply by myself when I filed my N-400 with TSC (no issues). Of course I followed all the instructions given on the USCIS website down to the DOT, even assembling the application packet. Good luck!
