I am filling in the N400 and had some questions for anyone who has been through the process.
I am a male (Aussie) PR filing.

Information About Your Marital History:
Part 8
B: 1 - Spouse's Family Name
Does this mean her name now (i.e. my last name) or her maiden name?
F: 1 - Prior Spouse's Family Name
Does this mean my prior spouse's name when they were married to me (i.e. my last name) or their maiden name?
G: - Do they want my current wifes name etc here or do they want her ex-husbands info?

Information About Your Children:
Part 9
A&B: My US spouse has married children from a previous marriage, do I include her children as well?
i.e. are they counted in 'how many sons and daughters have you had'

thanks

You can enter a current or prior wife's married name followed by (nee: maiden name) OR just the maiden name.

They only want to know about your biological, legally and qualifying adopted and legally qualifying step children.

They are legal stepchildren if you married the other parent while the child was under 18.

I confused then, what does this mean:
On the N400 Instructions under Part 9. A:7 Born when you were not married.
To me, it seems to either mean ALL children of my now spouse regardless of age or when I married her, or it is referring to children born out-of-wedlock to us?
Why do they make these forms so darn confusing!

"Born when you were not married" is referring to your own adopted or biological children.

You don't need to list your spouse's children if they were 18 or older when you married their parent -- unless they're also your biological children or you adopted them.

You are required to list stepchildren that were under 18 when you married their parent.
