Hi Maria,

Interview: 21 Jan 2003
Name change Mar 12 2003
( By the time I was told that my application has been approved, with all additional security checks). The interview officer told me that I will be scheduled for April Oath by Court House in Dallas. But No news, I went to BCIS - Dallas on April 07. No useful information (After 7 hrs waiting), Mean time I have called couple of time (214-381 1423), but no useful information.
I contacted Senator (John Cornyn - R) from Texas by sending fax letter to his office and email. After one week I went to his office in Dallas, they said since senator is in D.C, He will contact BCIS ASAP. At this point I have no hope on this process. But Last week Monday I received a letter from his D.C office with his signature saying that he has contacted BCIS and will let me know that status as soon as he gets the response from BCIS. On 14 May I called BCIS, same old useless information from a very rude lady.
Finally yesterday (May 15) noon I got a call from Senator's Dallas office with a Good NEWS. It looks like INS!!(District Office) scheduled my Oath only on May 15 morning and fax the letter to Senator's office. Since there is no Oath in Dallas, they arranged with Sherman Court house. Senator's office gave a copy of email sent to Senator from INS saying that " we have received you enquiry Reg. so on so.., We have scheduled his oath on May 20......) Since I have only four days they have faxed the letter to Senator's office and I have collected from there. I am sure senator's push helped me to get the Oath scheduled quickly.
My suggestion is do not do any name change which causing problem like it takes more time and you have to go to Court house etc..)
I hope this helps, I will post my Oath experience. I have to start my wife's paper work..
Good Luck..
