N400 NYC help!

Hi, I filed my N400 Nov-6th 2006, I got the finger prints done in 3 weeks and thats about it. I havnt heard anything from them again. I went to the USCIS web site, it tells me my case still pending and it is in the Vermont service center. I really dont know what is going on with my case, I dont think it is normal I waited this long, concidering my friends had it done in like 4 months.

Please give me some advice, what can I do? who do I call?

Sounds like you're stuck in name check. I'd suggest making an InfoPass appointment and inquiring whether or not your application is still in name check. If the answer is yes, read the sticky thread titled "My name check experience". It'll shed a lot of light on the process and give you plenty of information regarding the possible course of action to take.
 
master6786 sounds like you are stuck in the Name Check. Like Vorpal said do an Infopass and see what is going on. The worse thing you can do is go by other people's timelines and experiences. Every person is unique in name and stuff. Give it some time.

I used to check my status online 10-20 times a day at first, hoping for a change and then realized I can't go on like this. I still followed this forum but got my priorities straight. (Not saying you don't have yours but I didn't have mine at this point) and then all of the sudden, out of the blue, unexpected there is this letter in my mailbox.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't get your citizenship in 4 months. I will tell you my journey which is like a bumpy roller coaster and see if that makes you feel any better.

I had applied in April 2006, about 7 months before you did. I have been finger printed twice and called for the interview twice as well. My name check is cleared since Jan of this year. They have not interviewed me coz my file cannot be located.

I hope you get your IL soon.
 
thanks guys, I guess Im not a lucky one. Just made an appointment with Infopass, its coming up in 2 weeks. Hope they dont tell me my file got lost and stuff like that.
