N400 Interview Results

One of my relatives attended N400 interview in Detroit couple of days ago. The INS officer checked off the results as follows.



* You have passed the English and Government Test.

* INS will send a written decision about your application.

But verbally the INS officer said - "The paper work has to go thru a quality process but I recommend that you be granted citizenship, ".

What is quality process and what does it mean when they checkoff


"* INS will send a written decision about your application" Instead of

* Congratulations you met all the requirements for Citizenship .........."

That's a security check. BCIS added that recently (post 9/11), so don't worry too much about it.

I need your help regarding this matter,please response everyone.

On N-400, one question was "Have you ever been arrested,cited or detained by law enforcement officer for any reason?"

How many forum members mention the "Minor Traffic Ticket" such as REd light cross, speeding ticket, no right turn" ?

My realtive did meniton any thing about the traffic tickets in the N400 appplication.

did your relative use 05/2001 version form n-400.

i am not clear what you said

now whole usa has only one bcis number 1-800-375-5283.

other numbers are inactive

Yes, we used N400 dated 5/31/01 form.

Can you update us whether your relative who had the interview in Detroit received the oath notice? If so, how long did it take after the interview?

Finger printing - Aug 2002


Interview - Jun 3 2003

Oath - July 2.
